Freno

The challenge was: How to rethink something that changed an entire industry and transform it into a functional design piece?

From the first ones made of wood to modern ceramics , in between there is the steel brake. A mechanism so widely used that we allow ourselves to almost forget it. Using design to pay homage to function is the answer to the challenge.

"Freno" is born out of the desire to adapt a motorcycle steel brake to a lamp. The brake maintains its purpose by acting as a stopping mechanism for the magnetic wooden clamp of the lamp, which can rotate in a full circle.
